Hi, all.

Need your advise and help on SAP2000 V17.

I have been using SAP2000 since V12, and recently upgraded to V17. I notice after I completed running steel frame design EC3 and display PMM details, not maximum forces is display. For example, a simply supported steel beam at both ends, maximum moment at mid span, but beam location in PMM details show 0.0 which display only shear force, although critical ratio check is correct. Please find attached PMM details and advice me on frame marked 22.

This is not happening when I run design in BS5950 and display PMM details.

Can I display PMM details show relevant forces to obtain that particular critical ratio, instead of show shear force and zero moment?

Thank you in advance.

Be aware that the governing equations in many cases are 6.3.3(4)-6.62.
If you look up that paragraph in EC3, it says "where NEd, MyEd and MzEd are the design values of the compression force and the maximum moments about the y-y and z-z axis along the member, respectively".
Key point is that those are the maximum values along the member, not the values at the considered point.
It is so because buckling effects are considered as global effects for the whole member, not at specific points.

Hi, darkjmf1,

Thank you for your time and advice.
