I have a 15kip point load supported by an 8 3/4" wide glulam. The center line of the point load is off set from the center line of the glulam beam by 1 5/8" creating an approx 2000 ft-lb twisting moment. The glb has joists framed into it on the same side as the offset wich effectively braces the beam from twisting (I think). Do I need to be worried about this? Any information on how to calculate/analyze the significance of the twisting force would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.
