I have a 15kip point load supported by an 8 3/4" wide glulam. The center line of the point load is off set from the center line of the glulam beam by 1 5/8" creating an approx 2000 ft-lb twisting moment. The glb has joists framed into it on the same side as the offset wich effectively braces the beam from twisting (I think). Do I need to be worried about this? Any information on how to calculate/analyze the significance of the twisting force would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would take that torque and apply it to the nearest joist connection and joist. So the connection would have to be capable of resisting the torque - as a moment-fixed connection and the adjoining joist would have to be designed for its normal applied loads plus an end moment.

Perhaps beefing up the joist at that point might be appropriate as well to add stiffness and ensure minimal rotation.
