Hello

Having some trouble editing and an edge blend in my model. Here's the error I receive. Everything in the history tree looks error free, therefore no clue what's going on here. Any help appreciated.

What it's indicating is that an edit on some other feature further back in the model s 'history tree' has caused some edges, which were used by Blend(300), to no longer exist. Therefore, when the update gets to Blend(300) some of it's edges are missing. Just allow the update to continue and then go back and using 'Edit with Rollback' edit Blend(300) and reselect any new edges which you need to pick in order to get the blend that you expected to get.

BTW, this is good reason to use Selection Intent when creating something like an Edge Blend, such as 'Tangent Curves' or 'Connected Curves' since these are rules to describe what to do if additional edges are added or some of the edges are removed, the model will simply apply the rule, get a new updated list of edges, apply the Blend using these edges and then continue to update.

Edit the feature in your tree called Edge Blend (300) and try redefining the edges. Remove any edges shown and completely redefine it....don't just add new edges.

I did use tangent curves for my selection. This problem occurs with all edge blends in the model, not just edge blend (300). I did try redefining several edge blends to no avail. I have created edge blend 300 at the end of the history tree just see whether the problem exists on newly created blends, and it still does. After creating edge blend 300 nithing was modified or editied yet the problem still exists.

This sounds like an issue I had in thread561-248819

If it is a blend that has truly errored out you will have to fix it, but if it is a 'phantom' error like I was getting all you have to do is hit the 'edit' button then 'OK' and it will update as it should have the first time through.

Close, nothing happend by clicking edit and ok only, however when I retyped the blend value all updated correctly. I really does seem like a phantom error. I dont want to do this everytime I edit a blend though.
I did go back and try deleting all blends in the model. Problem still occurs with newly created blends on seperate features as well.

Than may I suggest that you cantact GTAC and have them look at your file(s) as there may be more going on than meets the eye and they can help run that down for you and either repair or if it is a software bug, get it fixed.

What exact version are you running ?
- NX6 ?
There is a ugly bug in early MRs of NX6 where dependencies like the described "get lost". I don't remember which MR fixed it.

yep I am using NX6, I'll try to contact them,

thanks
