Hi folks,
I have a question in edge fillet in CATIA.while creating an internal edge fillet,it adds the volume externally
But in real case of production, material is removed.Could any one pl explain this concept.how does it simulate for the real time production?

A fillet on an internal edge does remove material, but not as much material if there was no fillet (R = 0). So the volume of the part material will increase when an internal fillet is added.

Hi jack,
could you please be more specific? Am not able to understand it?

Sudhakarn, If I understand your question correctly, this should help explain my response above:

A. Start with a blue part like this. It has a volume that we can measure. If we remove the lower-right corner we will have an internal edge.

B. The modified part has a new volume, which is less than the original part. I added a very small Edge Fillet on the internal edge.

C. When we add a larger Edge Fillet to the internal edge, the volume of the part increases from the previous step. And that volume will increase as the the fillet radius increases.
