edge length of weldolets

I am trying to determine the length of the welding surface for weldolets (the shape is essentially a circular sinusoidal wave). The weldolet dimensions are dependent on the header and branch pipe sizes.

Background: The purpose of this is to determine how much welding material is required per weldolet.

I would prefer not to create a headache by deriving a formula myself.

Ideally I am looking for a formula to find the approximate length of this odd shaped weldolet edge and/or a table with this length for each weldolet size.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Get a head ache and do it yourself - you might learn something... or just weld one - measure it - add 10% and you should be good to go....

Weldolet and Sockolet are basically self reinforced fittings

Weldolet is used for Butt weld branch connection where standard tee is not

available due to size restrictions and the piping is of critical / high pressure service.

Of course jeffhogie may not have access to the Weldolet or the skill to weld it.
