Edit Extract Region in NX8

We use Extracted Regions and Wave Linked Regions a lot. Starting in NX8 and NX8.5, if we double-click the feature to edit it and select new faces for the seed and/or boundary, it has to "think" after every face selection. It takes way too long. It did not do this behavior in NX7.5. What has changed and how can we fix this? Thanks in advance!!

Found a thread that was closed which describe the same issue that I am having
(thread561-316429). Why was that thread closed? Was is resolved? If so, how?

Why was that thread closed?

If there is no activity in the thread for 6 months, the thread gets closed automatically.

Can't say I've seen this except for when there is a lot of faces and shaded.

Have you tried the "use tangent edge angle"?
