Hi,
We use a shared MatML Library to assign material.
Some material nomenclature are changed.
I would like to change the name of this material via Material Library Manager.
I tried but without result.
It's possible or I need to edit with a txt editor like Notepad ++ ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC8.3

You can either edit the original material library (and yes, any text editor will do as long as you're careful) or create your own customized library, setting it up using the 'Site Material Library' option in Customer Defaults (if you set-up this in your 'site' defaults you can make this library available to all your users). Simply use the built in Manager Tools to 'copy' materials from the system library, make your edits and then export them into your own custom library which you've set-up as your 'Site Material Library', as mentioned above.

John,
we have a customized material library set in shared place via customer default using the 'Site Material Library' option, but I'm not able to edit the material name with Material Library Manager.
Please see attached images.
I try to edit Nylon to PA66, but remain Nylon.
What I wrong ?

Thank you...

Attached is a copy of the standard material library with an additional material which is Nylon with an edited name based on your images.

John,
how have you created the PA66 material ?
During the copy from the Nylon, via text editor or via Material Library Manager ?

Thank you...

I created the the 'PA66' material using the Material Library Manager.
