Hi Guys,

I am having trouble to modify model in assembly mode. I have 2 parts in the assembly and the corner rad's are interfering each other, please see the attached picture. I would like to know if there is any option I can apply to allow trimming the part in Green color to fit in the rad of 2nd model.

Hope this make sense.

regards

Rodney

double click your green part, then Insert -> Associative copy -> Wave geometry linker, pick Face from drop down list, select face of the part you would like to to trim to, and then just trim your green part with already linked face.

Thank you, It worked great. Just another thing, once I created the wave linked body and trim the part with the linked face, the linked face is visible in the model, how can I delete the wave linked body, without effecting the trimmed part.

Thanks

Hi Rodney,
Child feature will also get deleted if the parent child is deleted so if you delete the wave linked body the trim operation will also fail.In case you intend to get rid of the wave linked body completely then the best you can do it is to REMOVE ALL PARAMETERS from the final trimmed body using EDIT/FEATURE/REMOVE PARAMETERS and then delete the wave linked body.
If in case you just want to severe the association between the parent and the child wave linked body then break the link of the wave linked body and make it non-associative.

When you wave link objects, they get added to the reference set you are currently using. Go into the layer settings for the affected part and remove it from the reference set (shift-select it to deselect it from the reference set).

As mentioned above, I also use reference sets to get rid of wave-linked face feature. Usually I create new reference set named SOLID, and add to it only my final model.

Thank you Guys for your input. It really helped.

Cheers
