edit with rollback 1

I know this applet has been available since NX3. We had some Indian engineers tell us that they always use it. They, however, did not tell us the benefits of it. Anyone please care to enlighten me on it? Grazie

some times you when you edit a feature, especially very early in the model, such as a sketch for example, you want to roll the model back to it's state at that point in time so that all the clutter is removed and you have a clear view of the sketch without lines and dimensions being obscured by other geometry from lower down the part navigator. Other time it's not so important to you can turn it off from being the default in Preference > Modelling and toggling off the edit with roll back upon double click. You can always pick it from the drop down menu on MB3

While Simon covered the original benefit provided by Edit with Rollback, with the advent of being able to 'preview' the feature being added to the model during most feature creation operations, including the ability to modify its size/shape using dynamic handles, it became imperative that if we were also going to offer this same level of dynamic preview, with it's ability to use drag handles and on-screen parametric entry, then Edit with Rollback needed to become the preferred way of doing feature editing (for those feature types which could support this scheme) since it represented, in most situations, the highest productivity when editing your models while assuring that you were actually making the edits that you intended.

Sorry for the long sentence, but I think it captures what our current position is with respect to why we set this as the out-of-the-box default and why we encourage our customer to use it as much as possible.

But as always, we encourage everyone to put in your 2 cents worth as well.

Also depending upon what version that you're on it is either the most convenient or only practical way to edit certain features such as shells and trimmed sheets.
