Hallo
As far as a know, when you buy ASME material, you should order the same edition + addenda then used for the design of the vessel. Material bought on stock can also be used, if the QC manager verifies, that the properties are identical to the material initially required. The question is, to which extend the properties must be covered.
E.g. SA 516 has changed the maximum Mn-content in edition 2007 up to 1.50%. Can a plate produced to this new edition and containing a higher Mn than 1.20 (the old maximum) be used for the construction of a vessel designed according ASME VIII,2 edition 2004 + addenda 06? Mechanical properties and design values according ASME II Part D are identical.
Where can I find the corresponding rules in ASME?
