Hi,
what is the effect of supplying lubricant from one end of the journal bearing and drain away at the other end as compare to the conventional way of having a supply at the centre of the braring.
the advantages of having oil supply point in the center is that it enables easy spread of the oil throughout the journal area and the oil wedge - an important phenomenon in journal bearing lubrication, is effectively formed if oil is let from the top.
let me know if the oil pressure fed hole is centre or offset from centre of the journal and also the oil circulating groove is centre or offset from centre of the journal, in such conditions which side the journal has to consider for load supporting as well for shaft deflection and bearing load calculations.
