Dear All,
I am currently analyzing in details the effect of changes in gas composition on the flare system hydraulics with respect to impact on backpressure and mach number...
Do you agree that for heavier MW, the mass rate will increase for the same molar flow of relief and accordingly backpressure on relieving PSV would increase.Additionally, mach number would reduce by a factor corresponding to the increase in pressure more dominant than molecular weight increase i.e. velocity reduction by increase in backpressure by 1/P , sonic velocity is sqrt (k*P/density) so mach number is reduced by sqrt(MW)/ P
Thanks
