Effect of persistant vibration on prestressed concrete

Hi all,

Title says it all. Basically one of the options proposed for a plant room project I'm designing was that of a PT slab foundation. I'm a bit concerned since the plant will include heavy machinery with not-insignificant vibration potential.

My gut feel is that in the (very) long term, the constant vibration may reduce the prestress more than under normal circumstances but I'd like a second opinion on this.

Thanks in advance !

Prestressed/PT concrete is used for cyclic loading all the time. In general, the tendons will have issues before the concrete. ACI 215 & AASHTO address acceptable stress ranges for the tendons used.
