Effect of radiation exposer on metals in nuclear reactor

In nuclear reactor many metals like stainless steel,zirconium, carbon steel are using. Due to continuous radiation exposer on these metals in nuclear reactor what metallergical changes may happen.

please explain NDTT for different metal used in nuclear reactor.

Very complicated area - you really need to get some good reference papers on the materials you are concerned with. In general however, on carbon steels the neutron bombardment causes embrittlement and a shift in the NDTT to higher temperatures. Zirconium alloys are often used in water moderated reactors and can become embrittled by formation of metal hydrides as well as effects from the radiation bombardment.

I have heard that many metals can cause problems in contaminating stainless steels. For example, copper seems to be a concern if it can get into the process water.

What is going on and what other metals may have similar problems..

Looking for some good reference material if possible.
