Hi all,

I am new to HEX design and that too using ADM Code. Using AutoPipe Vessel, I designed a custom weld-neck flange per B7 & B8 for my BEU exchanger. Subsequently, I designed tubesheet per B5 (6.7.3).

From the report generated by AutoPipe Vessel and further delving into calculation steps of flange design, I couldn't see any tubehseet impact considered in flange design or perhaps missed it.

Reference ADM 2000 B8 (6.1.3), it says "The calculation of circular, bolted, gasketed, flanged joints may also be made in accordance with the procedure to DIN EN 1591-1 taking its application limits into account. When using THIS standard, the strength calculation of the flanged joint considers, in addition to the calculation of pressure loadings, the loadings obtained from bolting-up (tightening), from external loadings or differing temperature in the individual components."

Kindly confirm if:
1. "THIS" in above para refers to EN 1591-1 or B8.
2. "from external loadings" in above para includes weight induced by tubesheet to flanges.
3. any other aspect of tubesheet is included in flange design or vice a versa.

Best Regards,
Awais
