Ejector Pin Height

I have a call out that states "Ejector pin marks permissible on surf E up to .010 max depth." Now, the ejector pins on the part are range from .001 below the surface to .002 above it. Since it doesn't specifically say flush to .010 below, do I then follow the surface profile as a tolerance?

I'm sorry for the confusion. It should say "the ejector pin marks on the part range from .001 below...." The ejector pins themselves are in the mold, not in the part.

As written, ejector pin marks "proud" of the surface are not permitted.

More likely, the possibility was not considered the the person that made the drawing.

There could be good reasons why the marks are not allowed to be proud of the surface. I would have to reject your parts or ask for a deviation and drawing change.
