hi to all.

i would appreaciate hearing your thoughts on this.
we want to present and convince that using div 2,3 and EL-PL Method or Fracture is more economic and money saving. do you know any projects in the Fix Equipment field which is designed using Elastic Plastic Method, or using div3 (Fracture and Crack growth)? ( world, especially companies like shell, total... ).
or how can i find these. i searched across the web, found nothing.
what is your opinion?
thanks in advance and happy new year.

Who are you trying to convince? Most commercial applications are not published because they are proprietary. Search for papers in the ASME Journals and PVP Conference.

first my boss then our clients. they believe that el-Pl or div 2,3 is not widely used and are based on lab work and not very industrial.
and many of consultant are not very familiar to the rules of div 2,3 and have fear from these.

also even i m not sure that these rules especially design by analysis and more especially EL-PL or fracture is used. i have nt seen any good example on fatigue or plastic or fracture analysis based on ASME.
thanks for your reply.
