Hi,

I read in thread378-366796 that MSS SP-97-2012: "Elbolets are incorporatd in the latest edition of MSS SP-97, which is, as we know, 'part of B31.3s scope' by reference in table 326.1."?

[ponder]: the only thing I can read in this Standard Practice is, SP-97 fittings are fittings for "run pipe", not for "elbows", don't you agree?
So those fittings are not applicable as a ASME B31.3:2014 listed component when used in elbows, are they?

best regards,

tigny

B31.3-2014 by means of fig 328.5.4F shows acceptable use of elbolets. I cant think of a different standard than MSS SP-97 under whcih an elbolet should fall.

Hi XL83NL,

thank you for the information, I'll check that in the Code.

best regards.
