Hello all,
I am looking for an in-depth reference for motors and drives, one that explains things in semi-layman's terms. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or, of good resources available on the web?

Thanks in advance!
Kayla

I think the Reliance web page provides a fairly comprehensive and in-depth discussion.

For motor maintenance applications engineering, you can't beat the book "Managing Motors" by R. Nailen. Go to the Easa sight and follow links to Bark's publications.

Good books on motor are hard to come by. From my experience, most are lacking and you need to refer to quite a number to get the information you require. One that I use a lot was written by Say, but as usual, I have lowned it out and so haven't got the full details at the moment.
I addition to the websites electricpete has quoted, you may find some useful information on my site at Mark Empson
