My Karcher 7.85 pressure washer has developed an intermittent fault. The motor will run and then stop; after some troubleshooting it will run again, then refuse to start when I've replaced covers. I've checked 240V AC power to the switch, and that it is switching power down to the induction motor. I've changed the 40microfarad capacitor on spec, but all to no avail. So I'm running out of ideas, but remain convinced that there is a simple explanation. I should be grateful for any advice on further troubleshooting before I consign the unit to the scrap=heap

Water on a switch??
Over heating??
Some kind of over/under pressure switch kicking in??

When you trouble shoot - what are you finding?? or what fixes it??

Isn't that how they work?
The pump builds pressure until it stops. If you open the valve (press trigger), the pressure drops and the motor starts. Perfectly normal, I would say.
So, connect (power and water), press trigger and see if it doesn't run.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

So are you an Electrical Engineer with an engineering problem related to the manufacturing of these pressure washers, or is this a homeowner Do It Yourself project?
