Help required.
We are installing a MRI Scanner; question is the project manager has asked us to strip out the cabling to the lights and sockets as some one told him that we were supposed to use stranded cables rather than solid cables.

I have had a looked around the web and found no information, does any one know of a location, report, regulation or article where it recommends stranded cable.

Obtain the instalation recommendations from the MRI manuals.

Codes such as the NEC are intended to prevent fires. The NEC does not consider accommodating special equipment to work. Many industrial applications require stranded cables. In fact solid conductors are rarely used. I suspect that the MRI manufacturer published the requirements in their installation manual.
