Good afternoon to everyone,

I am trying to simulate by Abaqus the induction heating method is employed in order to Weld tuve.
I did the electromagnetic calculation and I transfer the Eddy current to the thermal analysis but I do not why the temperatura distribution is not adecuate. I mean, under coils the temperatura is very low. I upload a figure in order to showing my problema.
I am considering sfilm iteration in the tuve and also Thermal conductance between tuve and impeder.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Ane

Dear to everyone,

I am still working with the electrocmagnetic-thermal problema. I solve the previous problem but now I have other problem. When I import the Eddy current (get it using abaqusemloads) to the termal calculation, that only consider the tube, this perfom incorrectly.

I have never done any electromagnetic-thermic calculation and I am trying to learn how to do it. Nowadays I have no problems with electromagnetic calculation but I have some problems when I am trying to transfer Eddy current to the themal calculation.

Now I am working with thermic calculation and something curious is happening. If I consider the electromagnetic.inp and convert to thermal.inp (I consider all elements in termal calculation) the temperatura in the model is logical ( I do not consider interaction because I think I can not do it in tube surface, Abaqus not allowed). I add a photo.

In the other hand, if I model only the tube in termal calculation (as you did in your calculation) and I consider boundary surface in the tube equal to 0.15. The temperatura distribution is not adecuate. I do not know why this is happening? I miss something in the calculation? (I add the photo electromagnetic2 and inp).

Finally, I want to introduce 45m/min movement to my tube. This is posible to do in electromagnetic calculation or I have to do in termal calculation.
My intention is to create second step in thermal calculation and there apply this code.
*MOTION, ELEMENT, TRANSLATION
Tubo, 0., 0., 1., 0.6
Because I tried to introduce the motion in the electromagnetic calculation with the code of upstairs and the tube has not movement. It is the right procedure.

I really appreciate your help.

Please refrain from multiple postings. You've already posted this question on the Abaqus forum.

Dear,

Sorry in advance. I do not remeber that I posted it.
Do you have any idea how I can solve the problema.

Dear to everyone,

I solve the problem of mapp Eddy current. The problem was that the coordinate system was not the same.
But still I do not know how apply movement in the electromagnetic problem. Does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Ane

Hey Ane,

Greetings, this is Nithin. I have good experience in Abaqus Standard Explicit but i am new to Electromagnetic modelling.

Your post seemed to be interesting for me, because i have trouble in downloading the Electromagnetic example model .inp file from Abaqus Benchmarks Guide.

Due to this fact, i am not able to complete my model. It would be of great help if you could share your Electromagentic model .inp file with me, so that i could learn from it.

Looking forward for a positive reply from your end.

Regards,
Nithin
