Here shortly I am planning on trying to make some powerful electromagnets (strong enough to push steel balls at least 20 MPH) and I was wondering if double winding the copper wire would increase the amount of a magnetic force output by the piece of iron. Does anyone know?

Have you consulted your EM textbook? What does it say about number of turns and field strength?

You can only attract steel with an electromagnet, not push it.
Look at railgun designs. You use pulsed magnetic field.
