I have seen write-ups regarding ERPS for motor vehicles and claims that it solves all rust problems. Is this a new variety of snake oil or does this actually work. Can anyone comment?

Data I have seen seems to suggest it reduces corrosion and prolongs the life of a steel bodied motor car provided the sacrificial anodes are replaced well before disappearing.
On the other hand I do not know of any automotive company that has actually endorsed these electronic rust prevention systems or approved them as original equipment.
