Hi everyone,
I am trying to simulate a laser cutting on Composite Materials and I have written a Subroutine DFLUX code for moving heat source which acts as the Laser Source. The HFL and NT Values are in high orders (still did not maintain uniform units throughout), but I want the elements that undergo high temperatures to get deleted to simulate the cutting effect.
I am unable to figure out what are the material properties necessary to simulate the scenario. For now, I have entered only 3 material properties - Density, Specific Heat and Thermal Conductivity (None of them is temperature-dependent for now). What are the things that I need to cover? (I am Final Year Undergrad Student trying to propose this feasibility of this simulation, so my knowledge on ABAQUS is very very limited). Here is an image of the current simulation that I have obtained

Thanks in advance and Stay Safe!

It should be possible with USDFLD subroutine and state variable. Check the "Deleting elements from a mesh using state variables" paragraph of Abaqus documentation chapter "User-defined mechanical material behavior". You may have to perform coupled thermo-mechanical analysis.

Can you be a little more elaborate? The documentation has information that is way beyond my understanding and I am unable to grasp the information. Could you like to provide me with an example so that I can learn from that?

Thanks!
