Hi,

I have some hundred elements in a bay spanwise which are randomly numbered.
I have to put them on a graph in the same sequence to compare force/moment resultant.
When I extract results using “Create < report < Overwrite file” ,it gives results in either ascending or descending order element but not as per actual numbering.

Is there any way to extract the results as it is as per the element numbering using co-ordinate ID. ???

I am aware that there is a way in which I can manually select elements one by one in patran and using dump spread sheet option with index match function I can get the desired results.
But since I have got a huge set of data above option is not feasible.

Thanks,
AeroPal

It might be easier to renumber your elements according to coordiante values. Go to 'Utilities' menu, click 'FEM General', then click 'Renumber FEM ...'. A form will come up. Choose 'Element' for 'Object', 'Location' for Method, then you can define your renumber criteria based on the element central locations.
