Elevated Steel structure walkway, Recommend preventative checkup and maintenance

For elevated steel structure walkway bridge,
My particular case is exposed to hot and humid climate most of the year.

Any guidance where I can find good references for recommended frequency and checkups guidelines? Even if it is for cold weather places,

You could use the AASHTO Bridge Inspection Manual as a starting guideline. From there, you can decide what types and frequencies of inspections are proper in your case.
