Hello, i just started using BS EN 1992-4:2018,and from fig 3.1. it has only provided a drawing for anchor bolt embedded length in concrete. and no further detail. what is the required minimum embedded length of anchor bolt in conncrete?

Wellcome again Lejkhraj (Petroleum),

So you changed your nickname to LAZAR90 (Petroleum) ???

We were waiting with sanguine hope that you will ask new questions.. Our lives are so empty that we only exist here for your immediate use ....

Well that post went south quickly. Use h.ef for your anchor calculations. Other than that, there's not enough information here to go on. You need to know the anchor loads, concrete geometry, material strengths, etc. to figure out an actual number for the minimum embedment. A qualified structural engineer should be designing any anchors, you can't just pick an answer from a table.

vmjr24..thanks for your advice.

I was just taking reference from EN 1992-2-4:2018 which only gave this figure and i also read from AISC STANDARD that minimum embedment of anchor should be 12D to develop tensile strength in concrete.

For the design am working on, a single anchor should resist a tensile load of 30KN in concrete grade 30/37.

I am using a 20mm diameter anchor bolt material strength:S275, Class:8.8 with ultimate tensile strength: 800 N/mm2 & yield strength: 640 N/mm2

ACI 318 Annex D may be the friend you need to guide you in the design of anchor bolts including embedment details.
