Greetings to all,
I am working on stability analysis of embankments.
Details about:
Location : Delta region of a river, High risk zone (Seismic), in between the two banks of river, approach to the main bridge
Purpose : for road vehicle movement (24 kPa live load)
Max height : 10m
Base soil : Liquefiable up to 42m (with out considering the surcharge from embankment fill),
10 m height surcharge liqefiable depth reduces to 30m.
So, for this work i have to give ground improvement.
How much distance for the lateral width from toe of the embankment i have to consider?
Is it fine with Height of the embankment ? or please provide suggestions.
any reference will be very helpful.
