Embed Plates

We have to design some embed plates in concrete walls. Any recommendations on texts that cover this subject?

Be sure to use the 6th edition of the PCI Handbook. I heard that the tables were due for a substantial revision, downgrading the design strengths shown in Figure 6.15.
 
You may also use the ACI 318 appendix D. The building code may also provide some stud capacities. The Florida Building Code, based on the IBC, does this.
 
Agree with jmiec - the PCI handbook has methodoligies and examples, most of which are based on Appendix D of ACI 318 however a bunch of additional reseach was done by PCI for close edge conditions etc. so their methods are actually more accurate than Appendix D for embed type work.
