Spats on thread507-333478 you mentioned using the PCI design manual to figure the embed capacity. In PCI Design manual 7th edition it's Design Aid 6.15.10 and 6.15.11. If you're doing this for a handrail in a curb or something you have much less concrete in the transverse direction, how do we figure out how much concrete we need pass the embedded section?

You would have to check the concrete capicity in the weak direction as shear or tension, and maybe confine it with reinforcing.
