All,
I have searched the net and forums on this topic but haven't found much of anything useful.

We currently have an embossment on a 24g 18SR grid plate that is about .025 deep. We are re-making our die and the question has arisen as to whether or not this is the correct embossment depth (apparently we've always used .025 but no one really knows why).
Does anyone know where I can find standards on embossments, or have any relevant information on the subject?

Thanks,
Fred S

I'm not aware of any standards but we always use .025" deep also (for painted/powdercoated parts) (.015" for plated parts). Mostly because its deep enough to still read easily after the parts have been powdercoated. You really need a min. of .010-.015" between the high's and the lows to make distinguishable.
