On a ship I was on, we had one clockwise rotating engine and one counterclockwise rotating engine to offset the prop rotation.
I think that the fuel and oil pumps were of positive displacement type so they pumped equally well in both directions.
The water pumps had to be changed because they have to pump in the proper direction according to design.
Quite an inexpensive way to change the rotation of the engine.
