Hello folks I am actually a Technology Teacher, I am looking for a code that tells me (so I can let my district know) where and how many emrgency power disconnects should be in a room (Technology room, not computer technology but a Shop or Industrial Arts room as they where once called) I remember being told once that the disconnect buttons had to be on each wall, after a recent renovation the contractors place two on one wall 10 feet apart leaving one wall without an Emergency Stop button. Any help would be great with code numbers if you could be so kind as well.

Thanks,
Jason aka lloyd430

I can't site the code, but typically workshops/lab with electric rotating machines used to have the requirements for EPO. Assuming you verify the need for EPO with your local AHJ, typically they would be located near primary exits. If the area is too large, you may have to use some professional judgment. Locate so that some can quickly locate and access it without too much impediment.
