We are designing an office building next to high voltage overhead transmission lines. We performed an electrical magnetic field test and the measured electric magnetic field was 12 to 24 MilliGauss. Several areas of the building require the MilliGauss level to be below 5 Milligauss.

Are there any practical Design/Construction recommendations on how to solve this? Has anyone ever ran into this situation? How did you solve this? What was done?

Suggestion: Try industry standards, e.g. IEEE
1. IEEE Std 1026-1995
IEEE Recommended Practice for Test Methods for Determination of Compatibility of Materials With Conductive Polymeric Insulation Shields and Jackets
2. Check with High Voltage, Inc.
