I am looking for air quality emissions information related to industrial soldering with non-lead based, flux core solder.

Hi,
According to the "American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH)-Industrial Ventilation A Manual of Recommended Practice 1972", (I know there is a newer edition)
-Sn, (inorganic compounds, except SnH4 and SnO2),Tin 2 Mg/M3
-Sn, (organic compounds -that can contact cuts in skin),
0.1 Mg/M3
-Sb Antimony & compounds 0.5 Mg/M3
-Pb just in case you're using lead 0.15 Mg/M3
The above are TLV's -threshold limit values milligrams particulate per cubic meter of air.
The standards may have tightened up since.
As for the flux which is an antioxidant I believe, I am not sure what the composition is.
Please let me know what you intend to do or what compositions you use for the solder or flux, just for curiosity's sake.
Good-luck!

You might Check out EPA's Clearinghouse of emmission factor data. While the hygeinist inforation is fine, it has nothing to do with Environmental Standards, Just Worker Health Standards. I was a former inspector for the state of PA and rarely if ever considered emissions from these sources. I recocognize the potential scrutiny that might come with newer standards.
I would recommend that you do a mass balance calculation as well. How much flux do you buy, how much are your through away or recycling, How much ends up in the product. If you are using 10 tons a year or solder and can't account for 3percent, you are still less than most emission standards I would think. Good Luck to you.
