EN 10025-1 Tensile testing_Test pieces

Please advise me about this issue: I have an order to manufacture welded structure from steel with inspection certificate type 3.2. May I replace this certificate with type 3.1 and additional accredited laboratory retesting: tensile testing, impact testing and ladle analysis (acc. EN 10025-3). In affirmative case, I would like to know if for tensile testing is enough one test piece for each heat no. (up to 40tons). In EN 10025-1 clause 9.2.2.1 is written that one sample for each test unit must be used. Does this mean that also one test piece is enough for tensile testing?

Well for starters you have to go to the actual product specification to find out how many tensile samples to take.
I think that the clause that you are looking at says 'at least one sample', your lot size may require more. In some specs it is based on both weight and pieces.
If you move to a spec type that is more restrictive then you are fine. I don't recall the hierarchy in this case.

First question: according to what design code are you refering? PED? If so, in the PED (probably Annex I chapter 4) it is stated when you are allowed to use 3.1 in stead of 3.2. But you will have to comply to EN 10204 then.

You could also look into the guidelines.
