Hello all
I just stumbled over some notes from a course about the new european pressure vessel code EN13445, which lists the source of the different sections in the code, and I assume this may be of interest to some of you.
The notes were made when the code was still preliminary - thus the prEN.
Here goes:
Overview prEN UFPV (read 13445) Part 3
Shells under internal pressure:
Cylindrical and spherical shells: AD-Merkblatt B1, (BS 5500), CODAP 95
Dished ends: New
Cones and conical ends: (CODAP 95)
Vessels under external pressure: BS 5500
Openings in shells: (AD-Merkblatt B9), CODAP 95, BS 5500 Annex F
Flat ends: CODAP 95
Flanges: Normal method BS 5500
Alternative method East german code, prEN 1591 part 1/2
Bolted domed ends: BS 5500
Heat exchanger tubesheets: CODAP 95. BS 5500, ASME VIII AppAA
Expansion bellows: EJMA
Pressure vessels with rectangular section: ASME VIII
Non-pressure loads:
Local loads on nozzles: (BS 5500)
Horizontal vessels on saddle: East german code + AD-Merkblatt S3/2
Vertical vessels on bråcket: ?
Vertical vessels with legs: (AD-Merkblatt S 3/3 ?)
Vertical vessels with skirts: (AD-Merkblatt S3/1 )
Vertical vessels with ring supp: (AD-Merkblatt S3/5)
Simplified assessment af fatigue life: New but based on AD-Merkblatt S1 and BS 5500 and Euro Code 3
Detailed assessment af fatigue life: New but based on AD-Merkblatt S2 and BS 5500 and Euro Code 3
Design by analysis: New + BS 5500
Design by experimental techniques: New
Hope this is useful
regards
Mogens
