Some help with this would be great.
This material comes in various conditions normally brought in condition T.
Condition T, U, V, W, X, & Z are achievable but I can’t find the heat treatment process temperatures.

Can anyone point mew in the right direction?

Many thanks
James

Not really my area, but I dug out some info that might help.

For hardening, 820 - 850C Oil quench.
Temper for 100 ton condition (Z) 180 - 250C (air cool)
For other conditions 550 - 660C (air cool)

The differences between the temper conditions S - Y are only 5 tons on UTS for each condition. There are different limiting ruling sections for each of the conditions also, so its diffcult to give exact tempering temperatures for each condition.

For detail you really need to look at The mechanical and physical properties of the British Standard EN steels by J Woolamn and R A Mottram published by the British Iron and Steel Research Association. Three volumes covering all the EN steels first published 1966. ISBN 0080127878 Probably no longer available

Hope this is useful...
