Greetings:

This is more of a design idea question or brainstorming. This is a just an attempt if someone has a good idea that is able to share, if not, I understand. I'm looking for an EOP stop (check) block or swivel pin idea to work with my fixture. I attached a snapshot of the idea that I've started with so far. If anyone has any better, simpler ideas that might be less bulky, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Thank you in advance,

I'm sorry, what exactly am I looking for in that picture? The blue plate holding the red part? The green piece?

I don't see what the green piece is doing. Nor the tooling ball.

If you're looking to locate the red part 'axially' (so to speak) then yea, any hard object for it to contact will suffice. If it must be removed after clamping the part in place, then just make it a pin that slips into a bushed hole or something like that. I've used 1" dia stepped pins in a bushed hole as a stop for something to repeat, but still needing cutting tools to access the feature I'm locating off of. Slip pin into bushing. Slide part against pin. Clamp part. Remove pin.

For future reference, see:

JNieman, thank you for the reply. What you describe in using a pin through bushing is probably my best option. Basically, the end of the red part needs to be checked (it's a length check, basic and simple) but I didn't want to put a bulky block in there. Thank you again for this input. Much appreciated.
