Will the energy density (LHV) of the product gas obtained after steam methane reforming increase?
For example, if methane (LHV: 42 MJ/kg)is catalytically reformed with steam and oxygen in a fixed bed reactor, will the LHV of product gas be higher?
or is it that the energy density will remain same, but the heat energy contained in the gas would rise due to the reforming by addition of H atoms from steam?
