Hello All,

My name is oscar and I am designing an energy recovery scheme for a water distribution network. The scheme involves clean water transfer from treatment works by gravity to a reservior .There is an existing pressure reducing valve at the inlet into the reservior and discharge is not at atmospheric pressure.
Head duration Curve(HDC)
27%----84m
63%----52m
10%--- 0m

flow duration curve(FDC)

95%----0.12m3/s

I have attached the HDC,Flow duration Curve and other curves.

My questions are:

---what type of turbine might be suited for this scheme?
---is it going to be variable speed turbine or constant speed?
---- What design head might be suitable for such a scheme
Thanks

I'm not sure you're posting in the right place for your question. You might want to try forum404 or forum407.

The Zeropex company is already commercializing (Norway, UK and US)a patented combined product of the type you are looking for: reduction unit, el. generator and patented control for el. output.

Altough there is limitations to the use and a very sketchy reference to the real technical side of the unit, a contact might help you.
