Is there an internet search engine dedicated to engineering and constructiuon?

I am not aware of one. If there is, I would like to know about it.

Here is one I use for specs and details

I am not aware of a search engine particularly for engineering either.

I submitted it to the Structural engineering other topics Links list. I think we should start putting more into the link library for design reference or even create a separate design links list. There seems to always be somebody looking for a web site related to what they are working on, somebody posts a link and then it is forgotten about.

For instance there could be a link section entitled "Design" and then a subsection called "Wood" and have a list of link resources regarding wood design and not just commercial sites. This would not be a search engine for engineering but at least we could have a list of a lot of resources all in one place.

haynewp,

I do use arcat but not that much and I do use it exactly for the reasons you stated.

May be some one may come up with a good library/or links so we can point each other’s for such things. Now everything is all over the Internet. There have been some attempts to compile a list of links. However, for various reasons these attempts do not survive.

Another general purpose search engine with "clustering" capabilities-

I have been told, this is better than Google.

Ciao.
