Pls help. Epoxy coating powder keep sticking to the stainless steel silo wall for filling to packing bags. Kindly advise what type of remedy to be done to avoid this problem. Tried vibrator but dun work.

There is a very thin non stick coating that you could apply to your silo to greatly reduce your sticking problem. Unlike PTFE you can apply this coating yourself. I have used it in many applications with great success. It can be found at
Good luck,

You might also try tapping the wall of the silo. maybe a vibratory feeder style attachment can get the powder to flow for you.

Rayhew,
Epoxy powders can be sticky when conditions become warm.
Generally the colder you can dry process and store them the better.
Have you noticed a difference in flow characteristics between summer & winter?
Other things to look for:
Has anyone recently changed anything in the product or process?
Is the powder cold when first placed in the silo?
Can the powder be made colder before storage in the silo?
Hope this helps a little.

One thing you might try if possible is using a high build/high gloss epoxy coating/paint system on the surfaces exposed to the pellets. Whether this would work is accessability to coat and how abrasives the particles are.

There are a couple of other systems that are supposed to have anti-stick surfaces and abrasion resistance. I did have some flyers and will look around for it.

Also there were some tapes with adhesive backing that were fairly good again if the mechanical forces and abrasion weren't too high.

Here is a type device we used on handling a couple of our products. Two out of the three were quite successful the third didn’t work so well. The first website did have a real expert on flow problems. The second is the people that make the system.

There are several mechanical devices that may help so come back with more information on the physical parameters of your silo and flow rates. The powder size would also help.
