Equivalent for 34CrAlMo5

Anyone knows a good NA equivalent for 34CrAlMo5 that is easily available on the US market? It also needs to be cold drawn wire ~4.5 mm, and I'm talking about a large quantity.
I already know about A355, but I can not find a good source for it.
It looks like if you add 1.2% Al to 4135H you almost get there. Does such a modified 4135H exist?

You look probably for a nitriding steel.
If this is the case, the following:
AMS 6470, 6471, 6472 and 6475
might meet your requirements.

I am not aware of any nitriding steel being commonly available as small diameter drawn wire. I would contact Republic or Mittal (formerly Ispat Inland), as they would at least be familiar with producing these grades as bars. Goahead provided you with the SAE AMS (aerospace) standards for nitriding steels, but I do not believe these cover wire. Also, there is no exact SAE or ASTM equivalent to 34CrAlMo5.

It appears that 34CrAlMo5 is equivalent to AISI A355 Class D.

Indeed I'm looking for a nitriding steel, and my first choice was A355/nitralloy; wire is not necessary a requirement, we'll have someone else to take care of drawing it. The issue that I have is that our buyer complains about not being able to get it on the NA market. At least not without paying too much compared to what he usually buys (say 52100, 8620).
That is why I'm looking into giving him options.

Do a Google search on Nitrided Springs. A lot of work has been done in this area. This wire gets you into your size range with available materials.

A lot of this work has been done with CR + V alloys. One alloy I've seen used is 50CrV4 in wire for springs to be Nitrided.

This is funny, in a way. The Europeans are know for using CrMoV steels for nitriding, rather than the Al modified US grades.
Either way this stuff will cost a lot more than 8620 that is for sure.
Try one of the multinational wire houses like Bekaert or a specialty guy like Gibbs.
