Hi
Is anyone aware of a similar ASTM / ISO specification for steel to Australian Standard AS 2074 Grade L6B-1? Is there even an old British standard equivalent to AS 2074?
Application is a drive lever that is likely to be flogged using sledge hammers, therefore the impact strength is important. The UTS of L6B-1 is 850 MPa with a yield of 590 MPa. Elongation is only 8%, hardness is 248 - 302 HBW (Brinnel). The material has worked well in the past so we are loathed to change but are looking to source overseas.
Cheers.
