Hi All-

We had a power surge in our building yesterday, and afterwards I-DEAS was no longer able to open. Upon startup we all receive the message, "Error during data management open. Operation continued. You should immediately export an archive file."

Obviously, we don't have maintenance, because that would be the intelligent thing to have.

Anyone ever see this before? I've been trying to locate the solution, but to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Usually when we get this message we have lost assocaitivity between the parts, assemblies and drawings in our model file with the TDM. MOst of the time just hit ok and things seem to work ok. Just double check your library status.

Thanks for your response.

When I click OK, I-DEAS freezes.

What is the TDM? The library database?

I can start a new model file, and everything works fine.

Is there any way to check associativity between the central library and each individual install?

V

Yes TDM is the LIbrary Are you using TDM or Teamcenter?

We're not using TeamCenter, so I guess it must be TDM.

I can open a new model file, and get into everyone's individual files, but the central library files don't seem to be there. I can go into manage bins, and even see all the projects in the library, but it shows that there are no files in those projects.

There is some kind of connection off between the workstations and the library. I just need to figure out how to reset that connection.

Any help is appreciated.

I am not an admin so I have no other thoughts on this. i I Hope an admin can help you out.

I think your problem is that the tdm is not getting rid of the temp files it creates when item are take from the tdm to the model file. I-deas is supposed to over write them but it does not work all the time. I think there is a limit 10000 temp files per project. All that needs to be done i to delete some of the older temp files.

Part of the problem is that there are to many items residing in your model files. reduce the number of model file and clean up the tdm with the dmadmin tool and you should be good to go.
