We are currently executing one compressor module project. the suction line size is 30" due the straight length requirement we choose v cone meter for DP measurement where the straight length requirement is less.
for compensation or mass flow measurement we have added a PT and TT
The distance of TT from FE is 0.750 meter
the distance of PT from FE is 7500 meters
the reason for this the distance we have bend on 30" line followed by a in line strainer

Just want expert comments if there will significant error in the flow reading because of this distance

I have one option is to use MVT and measure DP and P at the same location and ensure temperature after 7.5 meters

Please advise

murugappan,

Are you sure of the dimensions? Separating sensors and flow metering elements by 7.5 km will introduce dreadful uncertainties into your metering system. Providing a sketch of your system would be very helpful in getting more useful advice.

Valuable advice from a professor many years ago: First, design for graceful failure. Everything we build will eventually fail, so we must strive to avoid injuries or secondary damage when that failure occurs. Only then can practicality and economics be properly considered.

Sorry, it 7500 mm and 7.5 meters as the pipe line size is 30" and we have bend which bt lenght is around 2.3 meters follwed b strainer which is 1.6 meters long

Type error....
