NX3, sheet metal application. I have a sheet metal part with 3 flanges with sketches. After creating it, I wanted to transform it (the entire part) to it's correct position but I get an error and so I "ignore all" but then I'm missing the last 2 flanges when I've move the part. I don't want to remove parameters but that's the only way I know of to be able to move the part in space. Can you identify the problem or help me figure it out or a good workaround? Thanks.

Just at a guess make sure that you're able to transform everything because what will occur is that if you leave behind linked geometry or datum co-ordinate systems and curves or other dependencies then whatever depends on them it likely to fall over.

Next you may have succeeded in doing that only to find that on playback certain features with a directional orientation are now inverted. This often occurs where that direction used was arbitrary and the reorientation is more than just a parallel sideways shift. You may in that case have to correct a few vectors in order to have it work correctly.

Why do you need to move it at all? What do you mean by 'it's correct position'? If you're going to add this part to an assembly, it makes no difference where the original origin was located as you position the part in the assembly relative to the the contents of the assembly, not based on what the original frame of reference was.

True but there's nothing more down home delicious that a part modelled in the correct absolute location if you're moving data from one place to the other and simply don't want to have to figure out what it was mated to!
