After using SolidWorks 2010 for several months without any trouble I suddenly start to get this message when I try to create or open a part or assembly file. (See attached error message).
In other hand if I first open a drawing file (i.e. an empty drawing template) and then try to open part or assembly file it works OK.
Now I always have to start SW session with opening a .SLDDRW file, not so troublesome but quit curios.
As far as I know I did not make any configuration change to eider Windows Vista or SW when the error started. To me it seems as a Vista problem.
I have un-installed and re-installed SW, still the same.
I am using Vista Business, memory 2048MB. Graphics: 256nVIDA Quatro FX570.
Any idea?

Have you tried resetting your registry? faq559-507

Also check your drivers on your video card... they might have been updated with windows if you did any updates. Some times a windows update will change the Graphics card driver.

Do you have two versions of SolidWorks installed on your computer? Did you install the second version recently?

Any new updates to your computer hardware/software, Windows updates, etc that your IT people have done recently?
